Some of my Favorites…

Posted on: 09/28/2009

After reading a post over at Athena Academy about daily quotes, I thought that it was a great idea. I went looking for some to incorporate in our school day. Here are some of the wonderful ones that I found.

‘Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars.’Les Brown

‘Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail’. Ralph Waldo Emerson

‘Teach us to walk the soft Earth as relatives to all that live there.’ Sioux Indian saying

I hear, and I forget. I see, and I remember. I do, and I understand.
— Chinese Proverb

It’s okay to make mistakes. Mistakes are our teachers — they help us to learn.
— John Bradshaw

We are still masters of our fate.

We are still captains of our souls.

~~Winston Churchill

There are so many great quotes out there, it can be difficult to pick and choose. I keep a Word document where I just add more and more every time I see something that I like!

We also have a copy of “Bartlett’s Famous Quotations”. Perfect for copywork and just to open up to a page for some inspiration.

Thanks for sharing these quotes and the links!

That is a great idea! I think that I will do that as well. I will look for the book at the library today. Thanks.
